Today's goal is to be able to work with video and embed video within a blog post. Video is a great resource that students can use and it can be a platform to get student responses. Some of the best videos that I notice on YouTube are the ones that require a response from the audience. A great channel that I would suggest that everyone look over is
1Veritasium. This channel is great in offering inquiry type videos that get students to think about what they are seeing. It challenges the misconceptions of the students and offers an alternative explanation towards the students misconception. The
spinning tube trick is by far the best video that offers an example of a inquiry based video.
Before Week 4
- Group 2 Glass Town Presentation: Amanda Flora, Mike Krenzel, Joe Thacker, Rebekka Atkins, Amy Maynard, Rick Sharpe, Wes Neal, Tanya Hill, & Jennifer Edwards
- Have your video uploaded to vimeo and posted towards your blog (video on how to embed vimeo into blogger)
- This is a screencast for how to make folders and add blogs to the feedly reader
Week 3 Blog Post
- Create a 1 minute video that gets students to think about the mysteries of glass. (upload this video to vimeo)
